Quite awhile ago, small publisher D3Publisher attempted to release Dark Sector, a futuristic title with plenty of action and gore in Australia to no avail. The OFLC deemed the title too violent and as such, denied the game a rating leaving D3Publisher no choice but to have developer, Digital Extremes, tone the game down.

Resubmitted with violent omissions, Dark Sector has now been granted an MA15+ rating here in Aus, but as usual it's at the cost of artistic freedom because our government still simply can't see a need for an R18+ rating. What makes this even worse is importing the game from overseas will impact D3Publisher's Australian-specific sales, potentially crippling a small and independent publisher.

You can check out more of Dark Sector on our game page.
