Brisbane-based developer Auran have announced the Fury League, an attempt to bring more players back into their (ill-fated?) MMO. The league will begin with a qualifying season, which will be free to enter:
To get the competitive juices flowing, and to ensure plenty of hard fought competition, the Qualifying Season will culminate in two special “Cash Ladders”. The top 1,000 players on each Ladder will win cash prizes with a total of $25,000 to be won. The first Cash Ladder will kick off May 20 with players competing in 8 v 8 team Vortex. The second will begin on May 27 with players competing in the 4 v 4 Elimination game type. The press release has a lot more information, so if you think you're in with a chance, it's probably worth having a gander at it. Whether this will boost the flagging player numbers is another question. Comments:Too little too late.
i never understood the appeal of this mmo. i mean how many people actually enjoy dressing up as animals, surely not that many to support a mmo.
haha
Need an MMOFPS, WoW style combat = sucks.
not until we get better internet or localised servers.
Good call.
How do you download large files from Game Arena ... 2.5 gig is huge for this client (don't really wanna play it as such, but wanna walk around for a while to check out some of the settings/atmosphere). The same way you download large files from anywhere else. Just use a download manager like Flashget etc so if it drops out you can resume.
Thanks Dan, that's exactly what I was fishing for (a recommendation).
Good call. there isnt really a world to walk around and check out. the game consists of arenas and a lobby. Edit: forget it, patches etc = not worth the time/effort.
last edited by dice at 01:33:32 10/May/08 $25,000 amongst 1,000 players doesn't sound like that awesome a deal though. I guess they're trying to appeal to people that just want to win SOMETHING, but averaging out at only $25 a head I can't really see it being that useful an incentive, especially in the already-crowded online gaming market. Someone'd have to pay me a lot more than $25 to play a game I didn't want to play these days!
Sif any but the first 3 will get money!
12.5, 7.5, 5 - which would be worth it IMO! Heard about this, installed it again, but the game still blows.
