Codemasters have released a playable demo of Race Driver: GRID to the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network, the 795MB sampler offering races from three regions from the full game.
Europe Touring Cars at Jarama Circuit, U.S Muscle cars at San Francisco and Japanese Drift Racing at Yokohama Docks. Compete online in the European and U.S races and check out the time trial competitions for the chance to win a car and other ace prizes.Race Driver: GRID is the latest incarnation of the TOCA series of racing sims from Codemasters and uses the same game engine as Colin McRae: DIRT. It also continues Codies tradition of confusingly renaming the same game for different regions. You'll find some screenies and the feature trailer over on our Race Driver: GRID game page. Update: The promised PC version is now also available. Grab it right here from AusGamers Files. Comments:totally feels like DiRT but with road cars instead
It also got released on PSN and yeah, it just feel just like dirt. It's a really pretty game, but the cars seem to have the fastest accelleration known to man.
No PC demo yet, d'oh.
Same look and atmosphere as Colin McRae: Dirt but has also a bit more slide in the physics department.
Have just downloaded and played the PS3 demo, and must say is quite enjoyable especially the eBay musclecar cup in the Mustang GT-R was awesome. The BMW 320Si euro touring series has a bit more slide in it., almost like riding on ice very arcade'y. Racetrack on the international trophy for the drifts in the Nissan Sylvia was a bit difficult. Damage system ok ( but why don't the wings get damaged/knocked-off if the car is totally crumpled?... ), good they kept Dirt in-car view. pc demos out now
Cheers, added the PC ver @ http://www.ausgamers.com/files/details/html/35719
