Yep, EA, those super smart kids in the industry with more than a flair for marketing, have decided it would be an awesome idea to team with a publisher called Nunchuck for an original party outing on the Wii (see, because the Wii's controller add-on is also called a Nunc... ah, you get the idea). Ninja Reflex, as the game is called, will be co-published by the former gaming giant (see Activision Blizzard for new Gaming Giant) and developed by Sanzaru Games and will also be made available on the Nintendo DS.
Ninja Reflex uses a series of martial arts challenges to test gamers' reflexes and measure their reaction times with millisecond precision. As players develop their ninja skills, they will strive to earn a black belt from their own personal Sensei. Players can also compete for ninja supremacy against their friends in fierce multiplayer battles with up to four players.

"Ninja Reflex channels the accessible multiplayer fun of Wii Sports and the self-improvement aspect of Brain Age into a martial arts universe that is ideally suited for the Wii and Nintendo DS," said David Luntz, President and CEO of Nunchuck Games. "Nunchuck Games is thrilled to team up with EA Partners to bring Ninja Reflex to gamers everywhere."
So it looks like the Wii has found more than its niche in the form of party adventures - and here I thought after Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy the system would start to be taken seriously. Ah well.

If you ask me there's actually a shortage of good party games.
