Nintendo Wii Weather Channel Released

Nintendo have announced that they've opened up a new channel on the Wii console for people that have it plugged into Internet:

THE Forecast Channel is now live...

This channel allows you to access free local weather forecasts after turning on the Wii console. When connected to the Internet, the WiiConnect24 service automatically updates local weather information.

I dont mean to be snide, but does this constitute as news? I mean, sure, its a console and as gamers we may be interested in consoles but, how trivial is too trival?

My mii is an old guy with eyebrows where his eyes should be. I prefer to play my wii with the same theory as i do drink alcohol. Not alone.
