Carmack to Receive Star on Walk of Game

id Software's PR group have announced Carmack is to receive a star on the Walk of Game:

Legendary game developer and id Software co-owner and technical director, John Carmack, will be awarded a star for Lifetime Achievement on Walk of Game on Thursday, March 16. The ceremony will take place at Walk of Game, the destination honoring leaders of the video game industry, located inside San Francisco�s Metreon, a mecca for the gaming community.

Carmack and the other 2006 inductees will be honored at a reception at Metreon, where the stars will be unveiled. The 2005 inductee for Lifetime Achievement, Nolan Bushnell (co-founder of Atari and creator of Pong), will headline the event. In addition to Carmack, Walk of Game will induct Sid Meier (creator of Civilization�) for Lifetime Achievement, and Lara Croft (Tomb Raider), StarCraft�, Final Fantasy and EverQuest� as favorite Games/Characters.
