nightfire is based on the quake3 engine, not half life.

when nightfire was announced it was the period inwhich most games (FPS wise) were utilising the Q3 engine. anyway ive seen the trailer (with ingame play, not pre-rendered stuff) and it looks quite promising, but from experience im not holding my breath.

Would like to have a look at it but the it requires Indeo codecs which apparently aren't included with Windows XP since SP1.

I can download them but it will cost me US$14.95 . Stuff that!!!
