Raven Software have released the first PC patch update for their recently released sci-fi FPS, Singularity. According to the patch notes, the update addresses two small issues:
  • Texture streaming: some players have experienced a streaming bug that occurred on higher resolutions after playing for extended periods. This has been fixed.

  • Networking connectivity: a few players have experienced a matchmaking bug when searching for a game where they would become stuck on the “Finding Best Match” screen. This has been fixed.
Eager Singularitorians can now find the patch right here on AusGamers.

For more details on Singularity, check out our recent in-depth review (AusGamers 7.5/10).

The recent discovery of undercover Russian spies, posing as Average Joe America in the United States caused us to conduct our own internal investigation - could there be a sleeper KGB operative within AusGamers?

Strolling up to Kosta who was suspiciously reading a socialist newspaper on a park bench, I casually asked "vodka eases the pain of loss, but not the pain of a Singularity?". He immediately arose from the bech, robot like and spouted "must crush capitalism" over and over again before sitting down at his computer and churning out today's Singularity review. We've since reported him to ASIO - stay tuned for Smirnoff-boarding updates.

In what is showing off, arguably for the first time, actual interesting gameplay concepts, this Singularity video offers a glimpse of the sort of player abilities we can expect to exploit in Raven Software's all new original IP.

Slowing the momentum of enemies and projectiles offers plenty of great gameplay opportunities, whether or not the game capitalises on this or not though, remains to be seen, but it's also interesting to watch this vide for its obvious BioShock influence.

Singularity is due to drop on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on the 25th of June. Check the embed below.
