Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games have announced that their 2012 title Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will be making its way to Nintendo's Wii U platform in US Spring 2013 (Autumn for Australia).
The Lego title will also be making use of the unique Wii U GamePad controller, using it as an enhanced interactive map and giving the ability to select different characters. The game will also utilise off-TV mode, plus have a second player join in on the TV, so they can fight crime together without having to share a single screen. The award-winning Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes gives players the chance to step into the shoes of the Caped Crusader and fully explore a Lego version of Gotham City. Once again under threat from the Joker, Batman must defend Gotham with the help of powerful friends like Superman and Robin, to put a stop to the diabolical plans of his nemesis and his entire team of super villains including Lex Luthor, The Penguin and Harley Quinn. Encounter all of the Dark Knight's iconic allies and enemies in a charming, hilarious, family-friendly adventure full of exciting gameplay.Currently Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is available for several other platforms including the original Wii system. No specific date has been revealed yet. Wednesday, 23 May 2012

Love them or hate them, the LEGO series of videogames appears to be here to stay, and with some 11 million copies sold worldwide of LEGO Batman, you can bet the bricked Caped Crusader will be around for a while too.
So the announcement of LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes doesn't really come as a shock, though it looks like this is actually Traveller's Tales' most ambitious LEGO game to-date with a completely open sandbox Gotham City to play in that nestles on around 500 square-miles of game-world. The addition of the likes of Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman and Wonderwoman, among a massive cast of villains such as The Joker and Lex Luthor also sweetens the deal.
