anyone else getting the ads at the bottom of each thread on QGl even when logged in? it started about a week ago and it's become really annoying.

Update 26 April 2012: As of today we've activated the ad at the bottom for logged in users as well. This is a week-long test to see how these ads performs. Appreciate your patience.

there's a "what's this" link at the bottom. Maybe you can't see it because you don't have sigs enabled - it goes to here: http://www.ausgamers.com/forums/general/thread.php/3203646

It's being tested for a week to see what performance is like. If it makes no significant difference they'll be disabled; if it generates some revenue they'll probably stay on.

What sort of revenue would be considered decent trog?

I.e. the banner ad above breaking news, what does that generate? I would imagine it would cop a few views?

Why is it "really annoying"? I missed that the first time. If it's that annoying you can move over to AusGamers.

edit: actually, this isn't open for discussion, sorry. We 100% depend on ad revenue to keep these sites running. Until we come up with a way to let people contribute financially somehow we have to leave the ads on, and finding the ads that perform the best is part of that.

We know they're annoying and we'll do what we can to minimise the annoyance for regulars.
