Needing some help to figure out how I can set outlook 2007 up to do some autofilling for me. I have to send multiple emails back to same people each day saying we’ve acknowledged their transmittals.

When the persons email is entered into the recipients box it will autofill the subject line and the body of the email.

To: yadayada@blah.com(I enter just this then everything else is done for me)

Subject: Transmittal Acknowledgement xxxxxx

George,

Please find attached signed transmittal xxx

Regards

Not sure if you are nailed to Outlook but I do similar things to this all the time with Thunderbird using the excellent mail merge add on!

Trog, being in massive construction company I am nailed to outlook.

Clubby, i've done all that.

hardware, isn't that the same thing as clubby mentioned?

I've done the template up but all I need it to do now is have everything filled just by typing in the persons email.

edit: Just tried it and so far it's quicker than the old way. I'm just clicking the drop down arrow under new then selecting form and the template I created. But would still be nicer and faster if I can somehow get it going the other way.

Lotus notes can do it :P

Yeah not sure you are going to have much luck other than a template as Outlook is pretty restrictive in customizing thins like this.

Has helped heaps.

Next question!

Can I set up a new toolbar where I can select 1 of the templates and it pops up with a new email message rather than clicking on the dropdown box under new then select forms then find the template.

I'm there as we speak but it wont stop appearing. I don't want to have to edit the registry to get my way since it's a work pc.

What version of Outlook?

Predefined trusted locations

If you work in an organization, your administrator might have created trusted locations for you. Contact your administrator for more information about using those trusted locations.
Default trusted locations

Several trusted locations are automatically created when you install the 2007 Microsoft Office system. The following are some examples:

drive\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates
drive\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Startup

Later versions of Outlook have a section that deals with Problematic Access.
As you're using 2007 I'd place the form/file in the above location and see how that goes?
