what was the logic behind disabling editing of posts after a certain timeframe?

It stops people with post limiters evading it by editing new responses into their posts.

I thought it prevented people like door from editing their posts to remove obviously erroneous material.

yeah that was the catalyst fade
it's too bad that he has to spoil it for the rest of us
