unboxing is up there with 'haul' youtubes, erotic harry potter fanfics and furry porn as something people should be ashamed of, but aren't.

If no one watched unboxing videos, people would stop making them. Obviously there must be a demand for them. I'll admit I've watched one or two unboxing videos for nothing more than to see what accessories come with a product because the products website is bloody useless and doesn't tell you anything about the cables it comes with, cables that you have to buy separately, whether there's an accessory that you'd think would be standard but turns out is actually optional, etc.
