Moving on from simple multi-touch. Very good direction to better interaction with our devices.

It classifies on some voltage levels through any circuit? That doesn't seem... likely to work... very well...

Looks great for careful gestures performed in a controlled environment by someone with limbs/appendages that are roughly the same size as those from who the gestures were calibrated with.

Hence I believe they will likely have false-positive problems from say:

1. For gestures: someone with different sized hands
2. For couch + TV example: if your dog just jumped on - how do you differentiate between dog and child. Do you need to calibrate in each user?
3. Music device example: how much stuff that you touch during the day may have a capacitive profile similar to a known gesture?

Also, some of those "applications" in the video are so completely retarded (door knob, food bowl examples) that they distract from other potentially interesting applications.

Yeah, those were my thoughts, right down to the completely retarded applications...

Not that it's necessarily not useful or not some hard work done by them, those are just some really bad examples...
