Nah, you might be thinking of the time that I felt it was strangely awkward to christmas'ify eastern characters, sort of like when japanese cartoons sometimes have their european fantasy characters suddenly wearing kimonos at formal events...
I can rule out several animes which he's not from though, that just leaves you with a few thousand. :P

I didn't like it until I'd watched so much that I couldn't remember whether I liked it or not any more..
It did get quite good for a while though, though currently is so bad that I'm about to give up on it if it doesn't pick up soon. It really just is a series of fan service and bad jokes.
