I don't get american politics, like the general impression I get from stuff like this and other bits and pieces I've seen is that americans fucking love obama, like he seems more popular than any president for a long time, but then the media makes it sound like hes a villain and everything he does is shit and hes not popular at all. Wtf is actually going on?
From what I understand he isn't doing that bad a job, but because he is black the republicans go batshit over any single thing he suggests. Even when he suggests things they were strongly for during the bush years. They took the stance that they are 100% against whatever he proposes, no matter what it is. So you hear lots of stories about how he is evil, ruining america come to take away jesus and guns, even though he hasn't said or done a single thing to suggest he is against either of those things.
Half the country just want to scream NIGGER at him as loud as they can but of course they can't so they make up bullshit issues. He doesn't even seem to get the fake respect other presidents have when they don't agree with his stance. At least they would smile and talk nice to him. Obama gets screamed at directly to his face and gets heckled when he makes some speeches.
It was a Black day for America when that Fake got Elected.
Although its not like McCain and Palin were an alternative.
I think a Carbon Rod could be President.
Id vote for a Carbon Rod.
How dare he feed people who can't afford food on their own because they are working fucking shitty jobs for minimum wage and struggle to keep afloat because multi-millionaires would rather more money they don't need than pay their workers a liveable wage.
And yes, Obama has racked up a large debt but that is because he was given perhaps the most toxic lump of shit than any other president had to deal with before. He was paying the bills that Bush and his retard friends collected, not to mention the whole financial crash that belongs to him as well that Obama had to deal with. Oh yeah and then there were 2 wars that have been going on 10+ years.
Holy shit, I'm chiming in on American Politics because I've heard this one before.
Obama has nothing to do with foodstamps. That is an automated system which has been in place for decades which kicks in when people lose jobs, cleverly intending to keep the country from descending into a wave of crime.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking, hasn't he just inherited all the wars and economic shit that Bush started, now hes getting blamed for the debt? Seems a bit unfair.
I'd love to see a breakdown of how much of that debt that Obama has "racked up" was spent on the unnecessary wars that the previous, moronic administration started. But hey, at least they weren't socialist leaning! Right?!
I haven't been in the loop about Faceman. My questions:
1. Is he an alternate account of an existing forum member? If so, which?
2. Is he deliberately trolling in every post, or does he seriously believe all his conspiracy theories?
I find it really difficult to work out WTF is going on in American politics, they are deeply divided on almost every key issue.
Furthermore the political parties and media outlets publish absolutely ridiculous propaganda, the republican pushed 'Obama Care is about murdering your grandparents' was one I noted.
That kind of shit should be illegal, how are voters with varying levels of education supposed to be given a fair and contextual reference within which to make decisions?
obama hasn't fixed anything in his term. he has added new debt to the US gov at an astronomical rate. a weak pres who hasn't made any tough decisions for a gov which is broke.
As an incumbent president he should be campaining on his record. His record is poor so he can't.
The one thing he has done (healthcare) may be thrown out for being unconstituional (The constitution may protect Americans from being forced to buy a product without a pre-condition), so he has no record to speak of. This law was already pretty unpopular for the many americans who think that government is too big.
There's ~10% unemployed and people are having a hard time. "Hope and Change" didn't work out. He has to exicte young people in to voting so expect to see a lot more of this type of promotion.

The Republicans are working for the rich and bible thumpers and want to cut spending on the poor to fix the budget deficit.
The Democrats are working for the poor and working class and want to remove earlier tax cuts on the rich to fix the budget deficit. As you've mentioned, both sides can't stand occupying the same room for long enough to form some sort of reasonable compromise, and their senate rules allow for political blowhards to waste time and block unwanted legislative votes by simply waffling for as long as they like.
The Republican presidential candidacy race was in major disarray until fairly recently when all the fringe players and loonys dropped out of the race. The party faithful's feelings towards the presumptive nominee is still about as warm as a 4hr old pizza though.
In that context, and with the mess that Bush made, the Democrat incumbency should have it in the bag but they're seen as not having done enough to turn the country around after the big GFC bang that happened about a month before the last presidential election. Also, the major health care legislative centrepiece of Obama looks like it's going to get tossed out on a constitutional technicality.
SNAFU, start learning Mandarin.
But hey, Obama can croon with the best of them.
Also they seem to of adopted a new rule out of thin air where you need 60/100 votes to pass something, despite 51 being the majority last time I did math. So even if a proposal gets 55/100 votes, it's called defeated. Americans can't even do math anymore.

This reminds me of that time that infi spouted a whole bunch of libertarian hyperbolic rhetoric trash.
Interesting, The American guy at work has been telling me Obama is not doing a good job. I don't enough about American politics to comment but I do hear a lot of negative sentiment. I''d love to find out what part of American he is from, I hear the states are fairly split.
After watching that video he is immediately better than George Bush.
@Tiny - This is what I mean about the state of misinformation in America, it all comes from the parties and major news outlets though!! People don't know they're been fed gross misconceptions or lies.
How are they ever going to decide anything when the initial information is all over the place?
Are you just capitalising words you want us to pay more attention to? Aren't you worse than most of the media sources you complain about? Not to mention here's an idea:
Why don't you do something about the problem. It's pretty easy to complain but it's a fuckload harder not just pressing keys on a keyboard but to actually give someone a 'hand up'.

the 60% is just to prevent a filibuster, aka. the minority party piss-farting around deliberately to prevent anything being passed
they could fix the loophole but don't seem to want to
