Whoa that's a wicked find! It's really interesting seeing how life was like in the 50's and 60's compared to now. Today's generation can't even operate without technology.
The weird thing is the films were strongly highlighting how technologically advanced the lifestyle in Brisbane was, particularly that second one showing a lot of industrial machinery and telephones all the time.
Wow. Those videos are awesome. I love seeing old fotos and videos of Brisbane. Just seeing all that stuff and wishing you could go back in time and check it out.
Thanx to Nerfy for double posting or I would have missed this.

It could, but it would be inconvenient as hell.

I like how he was saying how beautiful brisbane is and how wonderful everything is right as they show a smoke stack billowing out pollution into the atmosphere.
Yeah thanks Nerfy for reposting. Awesome video. It is truly bizarre to see the settings in that timeframe, especially Queens Gardens... I walk past that Queen Victoria statue every day to work.
That 1st video shows the Oasis which used to be down at Sunnybank. I remember going swimming there as a kid.
Its a shame it got pulled down because it was a beautiful spot.
those were awesome to watch. i grew up in Brisbane and lived inner city before it was cool so it was very interesting to see those places and remember things.
I like it how the woman does all the manual work and brings back the results, while the engineer guy sits back and does all the "creative" work with cigarette in hand. Reminds me of Mad Men :)
Hahahaha I have a mate at work that goes on and on about the 'old days' and how he would submit his program (as a bunch of punch cards) for reading... only to have it handed back 3 days later with a "ERROR ON LINE 531" so he would go fix it only to submit again and get another error on another line LOL. How irritating and time consuming.
He still has his final program for uni at work in a box... lol
They should play these on TV (instead of ads) to give younger people more of an idea what life was like. I believe the History Channel used to run short clips like these about Australia and the Commonwealth.
