Did anyone from here attend today?
I only went and took photos (will edit them in a few days), so I'm curious to know if I inadvertently spotted anyone...
Was the first time I'd been to have a look -- loads more people than I expected!
Good clean(ish) fun :)

Had a few guys chilling outside my house near the Taringa train station, was pretty cool getup they had. Will have to go to one sometime, love the idea. Girlfriend also saw a Halo guy covered in blood with a severed head at Toowong Station, and Batman/Joker/Harlet Quinn.

Batman just chilling with a coffee. Apparently there was also Catwoman, Joker and Riddler hanging round, all covered in blood.
A wicked Halo costume with a severed head.
Dude with headcrab.

this is weird, L4D2 gory version was refused classification here right? yet you have people walking around in horrific looking costumes/makeup scaring the shit out of people and kids yet it's ok? I thought there would have been some sort of controversy over this? Don't get me wrong as I think it's cool and love zombies and all that but I'm looking at it from a different point of view.

SOOO freaking stoked with how they turned out -- I feel like I'm starting to 'get it' :)
Was only my second time using Servo mode (tracking) - and got a near perfect keeper rate, with the compositions I wanted (mostly) while chasing people, of being ruffed up by crows. Yay!

I was having lunch in the city sometime last year and all of a sudden hundreds, probably thousands, of zombies showed up and walked down the street singing and chanting things like "WHAT DO WE WANT" ... "braaaaaaaains" - was very awesome.
Edit: Awesome pics dude!

5D MKII + 24-105L F4 + 430EX II flash.
As much as I would like one of the many 70-200's I saw being carried around on the day, I liked this setup -- I could get in peoples faces :)

Nice work. Were you using the flash for all those photos?

They turned out fantastic Hem, love the colour and lighting and composition is great! I think your setup was a better choice, getting up in people's faces plus doing that helps them pose as well. Did you have to do much post processing?

Aside from a few of the obvious ones which blurred (and look sick, by fluke) when the flash didn't fire, yeah.
I knew I was going to edit them quick contrasting, so I ran my normal exposure 1-1.5stops under, and the flash filling the subject, to get nice separation from the BG.
Saint, processing was batch edited once I found what I liked.
It was a pseudo-HDR almost, to make the make-up details rip out.
iirc,
-0.2exp
30 fill light
15~ blacks
40 clarity
Lights +12~
Dark -5~
-30 vibrance -> +30 saturation (love this combo).... then -10 lightness on the reds, to fix their now over-pink contrast.
Stock-o vignette
Then just a touch of sharpening, NR.
