Hey, anyone know a good program to put Windows 7 files onto USB for booting? Just installed a Gigabyte GTX570 OC and now it's saying it can't start computer due to hardware changes -_-*

Nevermind, just found WinToFlash. Anyone know if I will be able to get my PC back to normal after trying repair? Kind of have a few important files on there :(

If you have trouble after restoring, before you do a clean install you can either take hdd out, chuck it into another computer and copy, or you could use and ultimate boot cd or linux distro to copy the files.

Thanks, will give that a go. Hopefully it just installs generic drivers and lets me put the nvidia ones on. I did use Driver Sweeper to get rid of the ATI drivers before swapping, maybe that caused it?

dunno what drugs you're smoking, I did this very thing tonight, GTX 570 OC and a new PSU. Only thing I had trouble with was I'd hibernated previously and forgot to clean boot so I just had to delete the hibernation data and windows was golden.

Might help though that I have an unactivated retail version of W7 ultimate so it probably doesn't care if I change my hardware around. Haven't activated yet coz I just formatted the other day and there's no point as I'll be getting a totally new PC in the next month or two.

Hmmm, all I've done, is uninstall the ATI drivers, shutdown, proceed to take out 5770's and replace it with the 570, turned it on and it came up with the error saying "windows can't start please insert win disc and repair".

hmm last time I went from ATI to nvidia (or was it nvidia to ATI?) I had to format to get games to stop crashing, windows still booted though.

Have you tried a simple safemode?

Maybe the ATI uninstaller accidentally took out some key windows files.

If you can't fix windows put ubuntu on a usb stick with this: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
Copy all your data off onto a usb hard drive or burn it or put it on another partition & just format.

All good, made the rookie mistake of not plugging the power into the HDD haha. But now I've got another problem. Installed the stock drivers that come on the disc, and it seemed to kill my ethernet connection. Tried uninstalling and re-installing the ethernet driver, no luck there. Going to try updating the drivers for nVidia :S

Okay, just installed new drivers, still no internet. Running a ASRock z68 extreme4 gen3, everything is working BUT the ethernet port. Tried different ethernet cables, nothing. So weird.
