I have had a problem with sound for an unknown reason.
I read and posted and got no answers.

Then stumbled upon this thread and just ended up copying this guys screenshots at the end of the thread and it works now 100%

Hope it helps or at least leads you to somewhere that can tell you.

And people complain about Origin...sounds (ha) like Steam decided to reset default sound devices for you.

Eorl, its not like i actually thought steam changed my sound device... I'm not that noob. But my comp was having problems - i got to changing the sound quality part, and it said "this is already in use by another program" in the classical windows most helpful way.

It has taken me a week and a half to sort my sound issues out. Glad you didn't have to suffer like i did.

Thankfully it was nicely in time wth BF3.
