Finally!

Looking forward to checking out notifications centre and music backups via cloud, couldn't tell you how much music I've lost between devices over the years :(

It's advisable to backup in iTunes, update iTunes to 10.5 from http://www.apple.com/itunes, restore to iOS 5 in iTunes 10.5 then restore your backup.

Also, there's word that the activation servers are getting hammered.

Took me about 40 minutes

Am currently downloading 250 songs that I had lost between devices etc, which is good to see

Layout is the same as app store, you can go to purchased - then not on this iPhone and download them all

Lots of android-like features in there, not a bad idea overall though. I bet it makes the 3gs unusable though after a couple of weeks. It's just a hint based on other major iOS updates ;)

Things that give more control like showing how much memory in an application I think is good, and allowing UI changes to be made by the user (Eg optional notification topbar) is a good thing.

Good to see common app functions are integrated inside the os too, although sucks to be those devs.

Over the air updates is something my SGS doesn't have. Though that's a limitation of samsung rather than android.

Fuck. The one application - Stanza - I use on my iPod Touch is not iOS 5 compatible. I should have searched before upgrading.

And because it was bought out by Amazon, chances are it won't be updated.

Upgrade last night went smoothly on my 4. Everything seems snappier. Don't like that I can't move some of the new icons in to a folder, but everything else seem just right.

upgrade went smoothly for both my iphone and ipad.

only annoying thing is with imessage. doesnt seem to be continuing my conversation with some of my contacts.

some contacts work correctly where you can send imessages in the original conversation window that you used before ios5. but for other contacts its started a new one.

ie: there are 2 "Michael" now in my phone. One for text messages and 1 for iMessages. But for other contacts it's all in one which is what i suspect is how it work?

its annoying me!

it may be using Michael as an email address and not a phone address and doesn't know the two are the same

make sure you only have one Michael in your contacts now, and merge them if you have 2.

Yeah there are no other Michaels in my phone book and everything is merged into 1 contact.

Do you have to have a registered phone number? When I create a new message and i seaerch for contacts it has a blue speech bubble next to the contacts that are eligible for iMessage. So what I'm seeing now is that Michaels email has a blue speech bubble but his phone number isnt.

This wouldnt be so frustrating if it was normal behaviour but it isnt since my other contacts dont have this issue :(

eReader sites are saying MegaReader - it's not free, but it's only $2.
Similar to Stanza with Calibre integration.

Yeah figured as much, just saw the headline on Trogs blog (news.com.au) read "Siri only recognises Northren American accents", but has now changed to "Shiri in Japan means buttocks" or some nonsense.
