Ok guys here is my conundrum(i think thats how its spelt)
My speakers if i turn them down to just below 3 or on 3 sometimes.. They will just gradually fade out till they are silent. Now i am kinda thinking its the speakers i have the creative 5.1's but i just want to know what other people think i also have the creative audigy2 in my machine so i guess i am asking whether anyone else has had this problem if so was it the speakers or the sound card. Much appreciated

Sounds like a faulty volume control to me.
I've seen in the past where a faulty potentiometer will start to increase resistance without actually turning the pot.
You could try replacing this yourself with a similar spec part from dick smith or jaycar, if you don't mind wielding a soldering iron about.
