Now if all we could do was make a virus that would compleatly fuck up servers that run pop-ups that would be wonderfull... if we had those nerdy geeks who make a virus to fuck shit up on other peoples pc because they are getting picked on at school actually working to kill the bane of the internet the pop-ups they may be hail'd as champs for once... well looks like is back to the pumblings of lunch time for those little virus making ring pirates....

i say this because well i can i guess thats one reason i love this place...

the only other thing i can say is

Install SP2.... come complete with popup blocker.

Although it is only a matter of time until they find away around this. Just like every other Microsoft product. There are always holes and flaws there somewhere :)

I've installed SP2 on countless computers since it's release, all varying greatly in their hardware specs and usage (some were clean installs, some were on heavily used pc's that had XP installled long ago). I'm yet to see or hear of a single problem with any of them.

A microsoft rep made a visit the other week and happened to mentioned how certain types of malware/spyware can cause an SP2 installation to fail or cause problems. Just make sure the computer is absolutely clear of all viruses and spyware, and make sure nothing is running in the background before installing SP2 and you shouldn't have any problems.

*shrugs*

But anyway, just use mozilla's Firefox browser and be done with it. It's still better than IE6 under SP2 anyway. I can't remember the last time i saw a popup on my computer. :)

Yeah, it's not related to mozilla/firefox. It's because you have adware/spyware on your computer. You don't even need to have a browser open for them to generate ads and popups.

Go give yourself a cleanout with the latest version of Ad-Aware SE and those popups will go bye bye. ;)

I heard that Firefox is so good that microsoft are now, after all these years, finally going to update IE.
