anyone watch this? I just caught up with it on SBS on Demand and quite enjoyed it. Part 2 next week or on You Tube.
The first of a two-part show, psychological illusionist Derren Brown unleashes his most audacious plan yet - to convince one person that the planet has been devastated by a catastrophic meteorite strike, that lethal, infected zombies now roam the land and he is one of a mere handful of survivors. Our 'survivor' is someone who takes life for granted, and has yet to truly value what he has. The adventure that awaits him is meticulously crafted to give him the ultimate wake-up call, and teach him valuable life-lessons.
yeah look every time this guy does something it turns out to be some skill-less shit like a prerecorded video, or split-screen visual effect, combined with (supposedly) convincing a small live audience of some lie
I'm not sitting through an hour of this shit for some sort of equivalent disappointment.
tell me when he learns to juggle or ride a monocycle or something not shit
Controlling his access to news was interesting.
When the Mainstream Media tells you the same thing over and over you end up believing it simply because you keep hearing it.
His Environment shaped his belief that something terrible was happening.
Hypnotic suggestion can only go so far.
The subconscious mind may believe something is true but other parts of the Mind will disagree. Brown is reprogramming those other parts to convince the guy whats happening is real. Breaking down the checks and balances.
Like a network the Brain is drawing information from many sources verifying this is really happening.

That's why I'm asking thermite why that particular part makes him sceptical. In the early part of the show Brown specifically states that he chose this guy because he was susceptible to suggestion and hypnosis.
Derren Brown is horseshit you muppets. The 'illusion' is performed on the viewer who believes the shit, not the subjects of the show. Don't you get it?
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, but wanted to let ya's know that I've started a facebook campaign for Derren to tour Australia. Please check it out and spread the word! (Link below) Cheers! www.facebook.com/derrenbrownaustraliantour
The "sleeep!" thing is just out of stage hypnosis, which is rubbish, people just play along. They're using their imagination at best.
Derren Brown is an illusionist, so don't believe he has any mystical powers.
I thought this would be a great illusion like the Truman Show to really trick the guy, which would be fantastic to see, but if a big part of it is him doing the hypnosis thing which is obviously bullshit, then all of it is bullshit.
