Wasn't what I was expecting, but I actually quite enjoyed it. Im still a bit skeptical about the rest of the album, but i'm happy with what i've heard so far
Agree with 3dee. Largely uninspired past Muse fan here.
The strength of Muse was always Bellamy taking simple chord progressions but then creating interesting and diverse melodies and harmonies. This stuff seems crap in comparison.
It was alright but nothing special. Next band i'm really hanging out for a single from is Daft Punk since they are apparantly recording a new album right now.
What a mediocre song, when you listen past the wub wub wub. Boring and flat - This definitely isn't their "Kid A" as some fans have tried to pass it of as. I'm a huge Muse fan so this makes me sad :|
I was actually thinking the whole dubstep thing was massive troll by the band (as they seem to be jokers when they swap roles on fake live gigs e.g) But after seeing the second song I'm not too sure now. There's too much talent in the band for songs like these :/
Unfortunately not. Even worse, going by the track listing of the album, its only the first part in a two part track, which means theres probably another one like it.
Speaking of jokes, I thought that about the Olympic song they wrote. That was terribad.
I think that they might have got a bit of taste of (loli)pop from that song which was intended tongue and cheek Knights of Cydonia. I think Survival was supposed to be over the top like Cydonia was at least.
When i think of muse i think of Hyper music and plug in baby. Fuck plug in baby is good, but the clip looks like greenday. FAIL
They need to go back to their energetic guitars and distored bass. Map of the problematique is one of my favorite songs of all time. They are really deviating from what they are good at.
They are going down the same hill as Linkin park did. WTF is with bands these days?
Actually now that i've listened to that Madness song a few times i've come to like it. It's just the first half of the song I don't really like but after the guitar solo picks right up and the wubwubwub sound stops and is more like their sound. From then on it's pretty damn awesome and the way he sings the word love is pretty great I think.
Well. This is a first for me. I dont like Madness & I only like 2nd law when the dubstep has been taken out. I love Survival and everything else muse have ever done but. New album will be interesting to here.........as always :)

Muse mix the bombast of Radiohead with the subtlety of Nirvana whilst on a Queen trip. Once this has been exhausted there is not much left as is obvious :(
Yeah, I saw Muse when they toured a few years ago for their last album, and it was an epic live show, probably the best live show I've ever seen (though it'd be close between them and AC/DC)
