Uh. HBO do short seasons (like in the UK). As such, it's usually a 9 month break between seasons.

Some of it is fantastic, vampire, werewolves and what not doing what they do best, but parts of it are a bit home and away/neighbours, but just when you go if this episode is shit I'm not watching it again it becomes awesome again.. and then the season ends.

A lot of people at work are right into this so they lent me the Season 1 DVD set. I watched it all hoping it would get good, but it just didn't grab me at all. I just found it extremely cheesy.

I like it, but the biggest problem with the show is that the main character is by far the most annoying character in the series. They should make the main character Eric or something and make it a show entirely about norse viking vampires.
