Saw this last night, and I thought it was freakin' awesome. The overall look, sound and feel of the movie made me think I was in the 80's again, but an 80's that had good special effects. I thought the film was very loyal to the original, and I really bought into the whole time lapse plot.

I saw it last night also and thought it was very good. I don't think I've had such fun just sitting there watching a movie for .. well, maybe for ever. I just was thinking "this is so pretttyyyyyy". Soundtrack is awesome.
I would have liked it to be a bit darker and a bit more adult, but overall for a Disney movie I thought it was pretty goddamn good.

Very cool indeed, i loved the music that started in the bar fight, the eye candy of the blonde in that tight suit, and the daft punk reference of the DJs in the bar... yeah, bar scene probably my favorite.

Saw it last night and liked it. Great visuals and awesome music.
The de-aging was good but there was still a little something off when he talked. Pretty close to not being able to tell real from fake though.

I just watched the third trailer with bits of his digital version in it. Man, that's looks bad, not even when he's talking. It just looks incredibly fake. Poor form Disney.
I'll still see it but I can guess that I'll be "noticing" how fake young Jeff Bridges is rather than enjoying the scenes.
Just... wow.

First thing I noticed and it annoyed me, even in the non-computer part when it showed some stuff from the past.
Soundtrack was indeed awesome, however there weren't enough "games" for my liking, and story/plot/writing was a bit weak at times. Still thoroughly enjoyed the movie though.

That was one cool movie. Visually stunning and true to the original as already mentioned.
I really wish they'd stop realeasing movies in 3d only though. Was there actually much use of 3d in the film? I was so engrossed I didn't really notice, maybe that means it was just really well done.

Young Jeff didn't bother me so much, he was supposed to be a computer program so I don't see the problem with it looking kinda fake. RL Young Jeff looked a bit off, but he was only in the film briefly.
Rewatching the original makes me think that some of Jeff Bridges "Dude" was based on his Kevin Flynn character
RADICAL MAN!

There was a 2d version playing in the theatre next door, a couple of our party went and saw it because they can't handle 3d. Pity, because the 3d was done pretty well. Most of the RL scenes were shot in 2d, which was a nice rest for my eyes. And that scene with the light cycles?! Holy FUCK!

where is it showing in 2D? I would see it a second time in 2D but I fucking hate 3D. You cannot see everything as clearly as in 2D and by the end of the film it feel slike my nose wants to jump off my face cause its being dragged down to hell by some big fuckoff glasses. (at least the reusable ones they have at dendy)

Loved it. The soundtrack matched the amazing visuals so well. Minor complaints about 'storyline' but overall was really entertaining. Definitely noticed the 'young' Bridges - it might have passed if they only used it for computer-Flynn, but using it in the first scene was a mistake imo.
What is the consensus on 3D? I'd definitely love to see it again, and considering 3D if it's decent.

I still prefer 2d movies, but reckon Tron pulled it off.
Storyline wasnt all that great and there couldve been a bit more action, but amazing movie overall. Soundtrack was pretty cool too.
would defs recommend to anyone.

They should've just made him look younger with make up or some such. I'm sure it looked great for cgi, but the fact is it was still cgi, enough so that I could tell that it wasn't real.

Saw it over christmas when I was up in brisbane, and I thought it was spectacular. Agree about the soundtrack too, very awesome, I have to get me a copy of it.
I didn't mind the young Jeff Bridges, the only time it looked painfully, extremely fake to me was right at the end when Clu was trying to get into the portal and Kevin Flynn was holding him back with his god powers.
Rewatching the original makes me think that some of Jeff Bridges "Dude" was based on his Kevin Flynn character
Hah, yeah, he definitely reminded me of the Dude at times in this one too. Especially at that bit where hes like pissed off at his son and he goes "You're really messin' with my Zen thing, man!", totally the Dude.

Great music, shitty acting, breathtaking world. The only bits that let it down for me were a few plotholes and the overbearing disney moments. Argh! But the 3D was wicked and the story linked well with the original.

What I wanna know is, if Clu's army came out of the grid, were they just all gonna chill in the arcade? I keep imagining coming through as a mighty force and all being squished to death.
Also, I thought programs can only come out if they had a user? Is that computer able to create people out of thin air? If so, why doesn't Flynn like make more fake girlfriends that hot? I'm sure theres a huge market in Japan for that shit.

Saw it 2D, thought it was freakin awesome and a great sequel. As if whinge about the CG Jeff Bridges - I thought it was done really well and who cares anyway, even if he looked a bit computery it fitted the movie. Soundtrack fitted the movie perfectly, nice work daft punk.
I'm pretty sure the digital army would have had their ass kicked in the real world though anyway?

I nearly fell asleep in this. How they made the inside of a futuristic video game boring I will never know.
Every single aspect of this movie, aside from the sound track, had no redeeming qualities.

Maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind (I normally love this sort of shit) but it didn't wow me at all and felt amazingly pedestrian. The entire plot was absurdly transparent, I picked every single fucking event at least 10 minutes out despite avoiding spoilers and trailers as much as possible.
Might need to give it another run or something, only scores 3 piggies out of 5 atm.
