A guy at work just introduced me to this, and I gotta say, FUCK YEAH. Its a "super band" made up of the lead singer from Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl on drums, John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin on keyboards and bass, and another guy I haven't heard of.
They haven't put out an album or anything yet, but theres some clips on youtube and some of their live stuff is floating around and hells yeah, sounding awesome.
And heres a useful link.

They've already done a bunch of shows and they are getting good reviews. Sadly a band like this would not come to australia. If they were, it would be a miracle.
Check on youtube for videos.
Should also check out the new "the soulsavers" album, brilliant work from mark lanegan(screaming trees, QoTSA and others)

Yeah, and if they did come to Australia, it'd probably cost a fortune to get tickets :(

If they did sydney or melbourne only, i would definately fly down for the night. bands like this are worth the flight, because it would be a one off event.

So glad they aren't doing any festivals, they wouldn't get the same reception they would from a solo show, knowing their true fans are there and not deadshits

Our company is running out of money and everyone who works there got put from full time, down to 2 days a week part time, which kind of skittled my plans to get these tickets too :(

bdo is now the lamest festival ever.
boganfest.
its good to see a band NOT playing festivals and only doing headline shows.
ive said it before, we miss out on some good bands who come to southern festivals and do sideshows everywhere but brisbane :(
i have to say, its good hearing josh homme playing the old school type riffs.
hes a dead set legend as are jones and grohl as well imo .

Never heard of them but if that video VIPER posted is anything to go by, it sounds kinda boring... Or maybe its just me. The song just went on and on and on. Then again I'm not too into grohl's stuff (as a drummer).

^ wow, thats the 1st time ive heard someon say that.
even my electronica mates love him as it was his drums cut up on the latest prodigy album.
he plays on so many classic modern rock albums.
its actually good to hear a drummer say that for once.
who are your key players 3dee?

I'm influenced by Jose Pasillas (Incubus), Dom Howard (Muse), Neil Peart (Rush) and Chad Smith (RHCP) mostly so its not exactly "classic hard rock" but even then, that song just seemed to drag on a bit, ya know. Most of the music I listen is quite the opposite, though.

Sorry I meant his music. Just never been that into it really (such as Foo Fighters). More into funk, progressive and alternative rock than classic or hard rock per se.

Yeah? I guess my playing style is somewhere in between those four drummers since I listen to them all a considerable amount more than any other bands.
