oh, and the other thing i remember. if you buy PC User mag, they have this program they designed called 'PC User PerfectPC' on the cover disk.

it's free and you basically choose the components and it prices it all for you.

i know for sure it's on the Jan edition which is out now http://www.pcuser.com.au/magazine-latest

That is the fastest looking Case Ive ever seen.

Why spend so much on a Case ?
If you were getting a $2000+ beast sure but 20% of the PC cost on a case is overkill.

$100 case and put the other $90 into extras

usually people post suggestions though and ask if anyone can think of anything they'd change on the off chance someone in the know knows one of the components has a bad rep. Most of them don't just come in & go hey dicks, build me a computer kthx.

If my budget was $1k I would not be spending $188 on a case. Just sayin'

Also this but I guess to a young male appearance is everything. Can't roll up to mates LAN games with a hyundai excel of computer cases, even if it does have pretty decent internals.

I reckon the case looks pretty cool with the whole orange and black thing going on. So what type of games do you play?

Itel S1155 Core i3 2120 3.3GHz Dual Core CPU - $149
1TB Western Digital EALX 7200rpm SATA 6Gb/s Caviar Blue HDD - $109
NVIDIA GTX560 Ti 1GB Gigabyte Overclocked PCIe Video Card - $249
DDR3 8GB (2x4G) G.Skill 2133MHz PC17000 RAM Kit - $159
Gigabyte S1155 GA-H67N-USB3-B3 Mini-ITX motherboard - $125

$791 all up for that

I have no idea if that's a good system for games although the video card should be fine. I just picked the cheapest stuff to make it fit under $800. Maybe someone can add to it.

More importantly, why buy expensive RAM and a H67 chipset mobo? Also didn't include a PSU.

Reminds me one time I was playing COD4 and some noob TK'd me so I gave him a mouthful over voicechat then his dad gets on and gives me a mouthful because it was his seven year old son and it was an accident.

Ah LOFL

I didn't even see that. I was just using the system build thingy so I wasn't sure what I was picking. If it was me building the system for myself, then I would be picking the best stuff and taking my time.

6 cores from amd = 3 core from intel

also, you can buy a $60 MB for a intel 1155, however why not spend a little extra for something better, and up-gradable

He wants to play games though, not run a PCMark benchmark. Fewer cores at a higher clock speed will give better performance in games:
