like the title says can some one tell me a good gaming computer build?
i got $2000 to spend(give or take) and it must also include O.S (Win7 Pro), keyboard, mouse and a 22" Monitor.
Hopefully a good GPU with at least 3-4gbs ram.
I also live in melbourne and will probably ask somone to build it and then ill pick it up at the store to save some money.
Thanks in advance.....

How is it worth $70? It takes about 20 mins to build a machine, its so fucking simple now you cannot possibly go wrong.
Save your money for something else and build the damn thing yourself.

ive got massive hands, so its fiddly, if anything goes wrong and you've built it yourself, you arent covered under the build warranty
ive built enough machines in my time to know its not worth the hassle

because you're new I'll fix your subject typo and won't delete your thread. Lucky for YOU I had cupcakes for breakfast and am feeling AWESOME.
Also, I agree with Spook - for me the $70 is easily worth it to know it was put together properly by someone that knows what they're doing.

The $70, if a piece of hardware is already fucked or something spazzes out during building you don't have to battle the employees at the store to get new parts.
It's quite clear that it's not worth $70 for the time/effort to get it built.

I will continue to build my own computers until my time is worth $100+ an hour.

i know i can build a pc, i just prefer the peace of mind knowing that if theres a faulty component, i dont have to deal with it

I've only ever built one pc from the ground up.
While it wasn't particular hard, I'd definately pay $70 for someone else to do it next time. $70 saves time and potential headaches and hassles if shit goes wrong.
In saying that I don't think I'll ever by a pc desktop again so it doesn't really matter.

It's so painful trying to get a replacement on a faulty part, the employees deal with noobs all day that have destroyed parts attempting to build there first PC so they always assume the worst and you have to battle for the replacement. last edited by CHUB at 09:51:43 03/Nov/09

yeap I pay the money to, CBF building these things anymore
p.s. most of the 'cheaper' shops more then likely employ some pimply faced teen to do it, not an experienced fella....

Depends where you buy your parts from. Umart seem to like to argue and tell you shit isnt broken when it is, CA has always had a straight swap policy.
After working in a PC store building PCs a few years back, trust me when I say that your $70 build is not always done by a professional or someone who knows what they are doing

haha, not always matey!

id never take a box home without seeing it booted up into windows and everything working
if i get home and temps or anyhting arent exactly what they should be, never any issues getting it rebuilt

Doesn't anyone enjoy assembly a new pc anymore.. I still enjoy it each time I have to, because I know whats coming after it's all installed, ONE HELL OF A TIME!!
Even back to when I had to assemble a pc for my IT diploma I enjoyed it, love getting inside and moving things around an re-arranging cables and hardware.
Rather keep that $50-70 for something else worthwhile than getting someone to do it.

eric I think you might be better off buying from dell.com.au
They have instructions for how to connect the monitor, power cables, speakers, keyboard, mouse, etc, which is all designed and published by professionals so you know you will be getting the best information possible that is suited to your hardware
