I don't know about that Brazil penalty they got that put them 2-1 up. I didn't catch a lot of the replay of it but what I did see looked like the standard sort of soft-tackle diving bulls*** that gives football such a bad reputation.

That said after letting in that 3rd goal Croatia deserved to lose.

F*** a duck! A night of surprises.

Netherlands steamrolls Spain, amazing game!

Then the Aussies stop Chile (many peoples favourites to win the cup) dead right until the very end. If they'd converted a few of those chances they could easily have drawn if not taken the lead. Turned out to be a great game, stonking effort from the Aussies, Chile actually looked worried in the 2nd half, and very relieved for that last goal and full time.

If the Aussie's can get up in the box with those crosses against Spain, they just might have a chance. Not looking good for the next game against Netherlands though.

OMG how awesome is this SBS World Game Online coverage...

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/worldcupvideo/item?vh-video=1239288&vh-asset=2&vh-match=4

Lets you watch replays in HD with an interactive timeline to skip to events of the match (goals, cards etc) as well as team and player stats, commentary, tactics etc all that can be toggled on and off on screen while you watch... brilliant.

Edit: I just found out it lets you have a multistream with multiple windows, e.g. one for the main game, one following a player, one on the coach/bench to see their reactions at any time, damn impressive!

I wish Craig Foster would turn it down a little bit.

It was a good effort by our guys, but they were roundly beaten.

2-1 up you don't need to chase the game so fawning over our defensive capability is stretching credulity.

If we walk away with a point from the group we've done well,

If we concede less then 10 goals then it hasn't been a disaster.

Spain was mind blowing

North Korea's efforts shouldn't go unreported by you capitalist swine.

A video online showing North Korea's state controlled media telling their football fans that their national team have reached the World Cup final in Brazil. There is no place for Germany, Argentina, Netherlands or Brazil.

According to the video, North Korea sailed through the group stage with a 7-0 win over Japan, 4-0 win over the U.S. and 2-0 win over China, putting them in a playoff against Portugal. It also shows images of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un superimposed on the big screen at Rio's World Cup fan fest.

oh yeah, they weren't in it and it's actually a spoof. but you know, NK is a weird place so it's a very viable con.

Pretty disappointing end to what was otherwise a good event, I thought. The final was such a stereotypical boring soccer game - although the deciding goal was a CRACKER. Maybe I'm just suffering from post-World Cup depression though after several weeks of always-available footy.

I think you're looking at the score to closely and forgetting about the game. It was end to end stuff with heaps of runs and some chances that were centimetres away that could have turned it into a goal-filled adventure.

Was this for real?

They showed a stadium full of North Korean supporters wouldn't they eventually sus out it's fake when no one they know actually went.

Read some of infi's posts to see how easy it is for people to fall for a government's lies no matter how obvious they are.
