There was a big crash at NASCAR today with a bits of car injuring the public. Nascar has been enforcing its copyright on any images of the event and having them pulled off the internet, including a terrifying video of a wheel taking out the people behind a guy with a phone camera.
all that money spent on a damn fence, F1 has massively expencive cables that hold the tyre onto the body of the car to prevent that, nascar dont because of the cost (and the fence is a safety fence that prevents this)
the India V Aus test is also exclusive rights for images.
its unworkable at best considering internet sharing of stories/images and i think hurts that Sport by creating less publicity for the Sport.
I don't think it's censorship is it? They had a similar thing at willobank one time I went there. No cameras allowed because some media company paid them megabucks to have exclusive film rights. It's more like copyright protection than censorship I reckon.
copuis the wheel tethers in F1 work to a degree, but more oftne than not they will fail and the wheel will disconnect anyway, but they do help to a degree. No non open wheeler category runs tethers either, V8's included so not sure why NASCAR would either, and even if they did, I would be surprised if they were strong enough in a crash like this.
It's a very bad one though and I am sure they will have a look at the catch fencing they are using once again (like they did after the Brack, Briscoe and Edwards crashes), though not sure what else would stand up to such impact (maybe some awesome polymer?).

Which, Reload? F1? If so it's real, he had an upright failure and the stress it instantly put on the other upright was enough to fail them both simultaneously.
