According to new rumours from Kotaku, the upcoming next-gen console from Sony - currently codenamed Orbis - may see a release of November this year for the United States. Unknown sources familiar to Kotaku have claimed that the tech giant has two models planned for their next-gen console, both priced at a possible $429 and $529 which could fit with the reported rumours yesterday.

Currently nothing has yet to be confirmed, as many are expecting Sony to unveil their new PlayStation home console at the event taking place in New York tomorrow at 9am AEST. While we wait, the rumour mill is quickly churning out more information including a possible use of controlling the console via smartphone or tablet and also the possibility of a subscription feature similar to the Xbox LIVE that Microsoft have running.

Alongside these rumours, reports of multiple domains being registered by Gaikai, the cloud gaming service that Sony purchased last year have been uncovered by Internet sleuth Superannuation. The domains point to what is called the "PlayStation Cloud", a possible streaming service that many are hoping will be revealed in more detail tomorrow, with the possibility of it being used for backwards compatibility for PlayStation 3 titles.

Two new pictures have also been revealed of the supposed PlayStation Orbis controller, showing off the trackpad centred device and what looks to be a headphone jack underneath. You can check that out below alongside a new video in the Evolution of PlayStation series, which focuses on various Sony branded titles like Gran Turismo and Journey.

well that's a pretty stupid move considering critics were recently raving about how much better psn plus is compared to xbox live.
