Superhydrophobic and oleophobic coating.

Pretty cool stuff. Sen a few of these before but this one impressed me with it's many uses on display.

Pretty impressive. No doubt there are already some awesome industrial applications of this tech.

S**** gotta be dangerous though, if you swallowed some of that you could be in real trouble.

Firstly, that is super difficult. I don't buy stuff on the phone from America. It's not 1970 and I'm not reading an ad for x-ray goggles in Archie comics.
Secondly, I don't actually think you can order it by calling that number, all you can do is find out who sells it.

They don't even give a price.

It's very old school and I don't like it.

I wonder what effect on drag this would have if you coated a boat with it or a huge oil tanker. F*****s might take off at a million miles an hour :p

I want some so I can try it out.

i was thinking about this (boat use) and the concrete shoot example in the video. i think it would depend how durable it is. i guess while repelling moisture may reduce wear it would eventually wear away through abrasion.

a guy on reddit asked them about spraying it on boat hulls.

... it WOULD lessen the friction coefficient on the hull, but it would require a higher speed and stabilization in the water due to lessened friction in ALL directions...

My dad has a product like this he was developing with a guy, but it is not as amazing as that. It does really good for graffiti and was also marketed as increasing speed and manouvreability for boats and surfboards he had people test it on.

We had it for sale in Noosa in surf and boat shops for a year or so. We still have a heap of it at home. Unfortunately the guy who developed the product just wanted to keep selling it for it's original use and didn't want to develop it further or be involved in any other business, even though it's near a multi-million dollar product idea too. Sigh.
