More Star Wars films than we thought....

Lucasfilm is officially announcing new spinoff films that will expand the mythos and depths of the Star Wars universe in previously unexplored ways.


The movies will be separate from the upcoming Episodes VII, VIII, and IX

There is info there on the screenwriters, but I guess we should keep our eyes and ears open for more news. They are going ahead with this pretty quickly it seems. Time is money!

Even though it was denied, I think that concept is fucking awesome. Thats the sort of stuff that gives me hope for good Star Wars spinoffs.

I mean, they've managed to do some pretty cool spinoffs with games, Force Unleashed was cool and that new one about the criminal underworld and bounty hunters thats coming out look good. Surely they can do something good with spinoff movies too.

Read the book Revan, a movie of his tale would be epic.

Also found this in my internet travels, dunno how real it is tho...

Disney has this, they have been milking Star Wars in their Theme Parks for ages I have a Donald Duck Storm Trooper model and a deck of Star Wars Disney cards. I can't wait for the new movies they will be fresher then Woolworths!

I just hope that they do something new. Finally played the old republic when it went free, and it was alright, but the galaxy feels impossibly stale and unchanging at this point. How about some new factions/whatever.

I guess it is possible for people to dislike A New Hope and Return of the Jedi (which is actually my favourite) but Empire Strikes Back was a masterpiece of filmmaking that is for all intents and purposes, faultless.

I rewatched the 3 plinket reviews and got the urge to buy the original trilogy but curious to know if it's even possible to buy them now without all the shitty edits and re-re-re-releases they've done over the years. Can you get the bog standard original anymore or has lucas put a stop to that?

What you want is the two disc Special Edition with the theatrical release on the second disc. Last I checked they go for about $200 on eBay from the USA (region one DVD) for the trilogy. Still need to get my hands on it some time.

:/ It's early days I guess but if that's true, it sounds somewhat disappointing. While boba fett and han solo are cool and all, they have an entire galaxy spanning thousands of years so no need to limit themselves to a dozen or so characters of importance.
