The team behind the ambitious OUYA games console has revealed partnerships with several national US retailers, that will see the crowdfunded device appearing on the high-street shelves and online outlets of the likes of Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Amazon, with an expected stock date of June 2013.

Delivery to the bulk of Kickstarter backers is still on track for March 2013, with April shipping dates reportedly still available (but running out) for units purchased via the official site's pre-order facility.

There's no word on whether the Australian equivalents of these retailers (such as GameStop subsidiary EB Games) will stock the device locally, but a quick check reveals that Amazon's store currently has no restrictions on shipping the US$99 console, and it's US$49.99 additional wireless controllers to an Australian postal address.

Looking forward to this. Especially if it has a big modding community. Keen to get some n64/ps2 emulators running the big screen.

The controller's price seem a bit stiff for a bargain console price!?
I'll wait for reviews and initial owners opinions.
