The hugely anticipated StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is getting closer and one of the best parts about any new Blizzard game is you get to see the opening cinematic before the game lands.

The cinematic video trailer for HotS has just landed, and it's the average, run-of-the-mill jaw dropping digital masterpiece that we've come to expect from the wizards at Blizz.

Check it out now below - or here in HD - to set the scene for the upcoming expansion - and start your drooling. Don't forget to check out our brand new preview as well!

Wow, that looked f*****g awesome. Pity the game isn't like that though.

EDIT: I should prolly re-werd that in case someone gets the wrong impression. Game would look awesome if it was like the visuals in the cinematic.

Aww I remember when she was just a young Lt named Kerrigan.
"I'm waitin' on you!" she'd say impatiently, if I started to lose focus when clicking on things.

They never push their ingame engines much, guess they are aiming for getting as many people to play their games so they configure it to work with low sys. requirements. Would like at least one game of blizzards where they don't hold back and create a game that truly is a graphics monster though i'm not holding my breath

When it comes to Starcraft 2 I think they push the graphics as far as they can within the reasonable scope of aiming for adequate performance when rendering literally hundreds of units and effects in each single frame.

I still get messages in SC2 about how people's PCs are slowing down the game during particularly large scale army battles.
