Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

I use a USB cable to connect to my DJ mixer. So ineffect the mixer acts as the sound card. I then plug headphones into the mixer or use the mixer to go to the AMP for my speakers.

Where does direct x fit into that?

If the mixer shows up in windows as a sound device when you plug int via USB, then its a DirectX compatible sound card/device.
