I'm making a change again. going back into selling instruments for monitoring and measuring in the environmental, gas detection, and Occupational Hygiene markets.

basically i was doing the same thing 6 months ago for a major multi national who brought in a US President/GM and pretty much decimated the company with his "style". Huge staff attrition (by choice) and it's still happening.

So i went to work for a consultancy as their BDM. Same industry segments but selling the consultants who use those instruments.

Got approached before Xmas by one of the other companies in the instruments field to see if I was interested in setting up the QLD branch for him. Knew him as a primary competitor. As I say to anyone who asks, "Always interested what's on offer."

The package is great, the range he has distribution agreements for is great. I really like dabbling in instrumentation, there is some cool stuff out there these days. So it all fit nicely for a change to get back into it.

Start 4th Feb, currently working out my notice. Which means I'm doing nothing because I work from home and given the timing pre xmas to now, with leave in between, there is not much in the pipeline to follow up.

Last year was my year for starting a new job, this year is the year to do something about my health. Fixing shit one step at a time, in a few more years I may even be a respectable, functioning member of society! Nah, thats probably aiming a bit high.

Office in WA is closing and I get to work from home full time. I expect the company to offer me a redundancy in about 6-12 months once the server infrastructure has been moved to VIC.

Couple more customers for my new job!

I started a new job on the 2nd of January. Had been with my old place for a bit over 5.5 years.

New place has taken me from SMB to the Enterprise space and given me a fairly hefty payraise included. Really enjoying it so far, it's been a great decision to move.

I'm currently looking for a job, got an interview tomorrow for a 10 week contract doing IT support / helpdesk type stuff. Been applying for helpdesk and web dev jobs but not much is happening yet.
