Nobody casts Tom Cruise, I'd imagine he's big enough that once he makes the decision 'I want to make a movie about blah' they construct the rest of the film around him.

It looks interesting, but I can't help thinking I've seen the entire movie in the trailer already.

on a sci-fi related note.... the "after earth" trailer looks like it could be cool too.
not as cool as i originally thought it would be... when i read the premise i thought it was going to be like harry harrison's deathworld :D but still could be ok.

After Earth looks more interesting to me, possibly because it wasn't a Tom Cruise overload and seemingly everything spoiled in the trailer. :P

the only shymalamadingdong movie i have disliked is the last airbender. everything else has been decent (the happening) or really enjoyable (unbreakable).

That After Earth looks interesting, though I still can't get over how Will Smith has barely aged since Bel Air. Also talking about sci-fi, finally watched Total Recall (2012) and it was actually really good, however no Arnold was kind of sad but at least they kept boob girl.

I thought Unbreakable was pretty shit, and the Happening was just laughably bad, it was so ridiculous it ended up being unintentionally funny which is where its only entertainment value lies. Every movie that guy makes just seems to reinforce the fact that the 6th sense was a fluke.

I would have enjoyed Unbreakable more if the film had reached its potential awesomeness. The concept could have been handle better. On the other hand, I would have enjoyed it even less if Bruce wasn't in it ;-)

I agree, though people killing themselves randomly did start to make sense when you think about the actors hearing they'd just been cast in yet another M Night Shyamalalamabomb.

I think he is a decent actor but personally I dislike him and his...organisation of which he is the poster boy. Bruce Willis needs to be in more movies, preferably good ones. I should watch Die Hard 1 + 2 because it is a christmas movie.
