It is a well rehearsed routine.
And it's fairly clear that this guy is studying 'traditional' magicianship, but given the number of times his hands disappear to the shelf behind the table top (and kinda more given away by the 'awkward' manner in which he's sitting, the illusion is ruined for me.
(n.b. I'm by no means saying that I could in anyway perform that routine, I can very simply see how he's performing it tho.)

Yeah, it sorta looks like he's been sitting there the whole time he's been working on this routine (y'know, he sat down days/weeks ago, a clean shaven well groomed guy, and has just been working this routine ever since).
