Well the Big Bash is starting again tonight. I really enjoyed last season. There were some close games and the crowds that turned up to the games ranged from satisfactory to awesome. I only managed to go and see one game which was the Stars vs. Heat at the GABBA and it was really kick arse. Seeing Warnie bowl McCullum around his legs was tops but finding out that he predicted it later made it even better.

With Warnie at the helm this season and with claims he is bowling better than he has since he retired I think we can pretty much say that they are a sure thing to win every game by around 10 wickets and of course the entire competition. They are playing the Renegades tonight which puts him up against Murali. Should be interesting :D

yo fpot, you seem to have more man love issues than pave, which says a lot.

did you grow up without a father?

in cricketing news, its all bad for the heat, with not only losing out on access to steyn, vetori is injured and wont play for them at all this series.

i agree with fpot on the format of the comp, its great, light and easy cricket that gets the crowd in.

not as satisfying as a one dayer, or a test, but its easier, so thats not a bad thing.

I had a father but he wasn't Shane Warne so he was a constant disappointment to me.

Cool I just read your link ara. That actually seems like a really good idea. Anything which gives the crowd more feedback about what's happening in the middle can only be a good thing. The only thing I can see happening which could be bad is if the bowler flicks the non-striker''s end stumps during his run-up. The stumps turning into a christmas tree would be very distracting for the batsman. I guess they could either have the feature turned off during the bowlers run up or just call it a no-ball if it happens. They are currently calling them as dead balls when that happens which is stupid I reckon.

they are.

i was checking out the cabled camera system at the gabba when i was there for the test.

its seriously impressive, the cables run between the roof of the gabba and the light towers. its awesome watching the cameras run up and down the lines, pretty impressive gear.

wonder if channel 10 is up for all this sort of gear?

I wonder what happens if the ball hits the camera. Dead ball I guess? Spewing if you middled it for a sure-fire four or six and the camera fucked you over.

i dont think Warne will be playing for Australia.

he bowls shit.
back to back 6s

hes too thin, his tweek magic must have come from his gut.

I wonder what happens if the ball hits the camera

Dead Ball im sure I heard during the Tests, its unlikely the camera sits behind the keeper during delivery. I think.

Red LED Bails and stumps are awesome.
I reckon they should add some noise to the cricket shots, like some phasing + reverb.

Yeah he's getting pumped, but that's what 20/20 cricket will do to bowlers....

Aaron Finch is on FIRE!

Looking at the teams on paper you would have thought the Stars would coast it in but the Renegades have done bloody well and will win this convincingly!

finch was on fire. i was a tad upset to see old warney drop that sitter. is he too old? mad props to the guy for still having a solid crack and at the big bash of all things being the hardest.

I think he would be pretty damn solid in test cricket which was his arena if everyone remembers. Batsmen just do not take the risks in test cricket which is where he shines with his bowling.

Having said that - god damn muralitherans bowling was SPOT ON all night!

did you watch his overs ?

His action was lazy and sloppy.
He was worse than SAFs Tahir.

he reckons hes bowling better than ever ?
maybe he means Lawn Bowls.
He made a fool of himself tonight.
I suspect he will develop an injury.

well i think it was ruled that the Stars were already ahead of the run rate they needed if the game had gone long enough to declare the game.

But If they lost more wickets that may have changed.
Dodgy decision.

One of the reasons i like Cricket is that it allows for some strange techniques.
Plenty of room for colourful ppl in Cricket.
Ive never been a fan of the chucking rule for the same reason.
Although, Greg Chappell took it a step too far when he got Trevor to bowl underarm, imagine what that would be like if it happened today ?

After several games in the 2012 Big Bash League, an unusual statistic has surfaced that is sure to raise a few eyebrows.

So far, the team chasing has run down the opposition on every single occasion.

An anomaly or an indication that T20 is starting to show signs of predictability?
