Paradox Interactive has announced a new monthly content update system for their medieval brawler War of the Roses, with the first update to arrive to players this month. The new content updates will deliver various new weapons, modes and updates to the game, with the first new content being introduced this Thursday.
The first monthly update will include a new game mode titled Pitched Battle, several new armaments including the Kingmaker sword, and also various other adornments.
The update introduces a wealth of new armaments to every knight’s arsenal, including the Kingmaker sword, a finely crafted piece of steel brandished by legendary English nobleman Richard Neville, otherwise known as Warwick the Kingmaker. A new suit of heavy armor will also be available to choose with different paint options to customize one’s fearsome look. One new helmet, four new visors, and seven new weapons, including the gothic mace, the halberd, and the horn-spanned crossbow, will also join the fray.
Players will also be introduced to a new game mode, henceforth known as “Pitched Battle,” which challenges knights to take greater care with their lives – since, in Pitched Battle, death is final.
For those interested in the new mode, the update will begin an open beta testing phase that anyone is welcome to join by simply checking the server browser.
