Paradox Interactive has announced a new monthly content update system for their medieval brawler War of the Roses, with the first update to arrive to players this month. The new content updates will deliver various new weapons, modes and updates to the game, with the first new content being introduced this Thursday.

The first monthly update will include a new game mode titled Pitched Battle, several new armaments including the Kingmaker sword, and also various other adornments.
The update introduces a wealth of new armaments to every knight’s arsenal, including the Kingmaker sword, a finely crafted piece of steel brandished by legendary English nobleman Richard Neville, otherwise known as Warwick the Kingmaker. A new suit of heavy armor will also be available to choose with different paint options to customize one’s fearsome look. One new helmet, four new visors, and seven new weapons, including the gothic mace, the halberd, and the horn-spanned crossbow, will also join the fray.

Players will also be introduced to a new game mode, henceforth known as “Pitched Battle,” which challenges knights to take greater care with their lives – since, in Pitched Battle, death is final.
For those interested in the new mode, the update will begin an open beta testing phase that anyone is welcome to join by simply checking the server browser.

For more on the upcoming update you can check out the official website, and you can also check out some of the screenshots below showcasing the new armour and weapons being added.

Its ntb davo ... ive sunk around 50 hours into it since release and it does archery and mounted combat really well. sooo satisfying lancing people in the face. i still quite enjoy it despite its flaws.

the problem with he gameplay is the spammy nub melee. FF is always on and you get nubs with 2H swords just spamming these huge sweeping attacks hitting everyone including teammates just to land a hit on 1 guy being mobbed by 5 friendlys.

gets very frustrating at times however its saved by a good 1v1 with another melee guy who knows how to block and counter properly. the dueling is very satisfying even if u loose.

best to check out "Chivarly" vids etc before you commit as wotr isnt for everyone. im a bit of a history tragic and like wotr authenticity. atm most agree chivalry is better with more gore and stuff.

good luck
