I went through my friends list and culled it with a 'people I see reguarly in real life or friends that are far away that I want to stay in contact with' policy because it just sucked having such an overblown list of people I barely knew and some I actively disliked. The "cost" of the function room is just what you're prepared to spend on beer. I was checking to see if we could just do it as a separate AG event, then I can justify more beer moneys. I would love to do 14th as well to make sure as many people as possible could be there but unfortunately it clashes with our (planned, but not yet confirmed) work Xmas party.
I'll try to nail that down tomorrow and will sort out a better system for tracking who is coming/can come and on what dates.

i dunno. people keep mentioning it. i do enough of these already. im up for havin a laugh but being stuck in a room with a bunch of gamers and IT guys sounds like work. you need outside atmosphere to have a good time. casual was good. i know im not a regular but i say give the reigns back to crazymorton. he had a good thing going and his heart was in a good place.

I personally like the function room plan because I can't really stand around for ages, and perch space in Brissy bars and pubs is a premium on a Saturday night.

Archive is always busy so the trick is going to be getting a table anyway. but we can lurk around the pool tables, hijack them with our dollar coins and mingle between the 2 and near by tables. With Trogs tab they probably give us arm bands or something, or Ausgamers can give us some nerdy gaming ones :-) and we drink our fill. (can i get a Gears of War band please)

team here's the latest....there are 2 preferred dates, 7 & 14 Dec. There seems to be enough interest in both so why not have 2.
