So i open my brower last night to this news..

iGoogle will not be available after November 1, 2013. Learn more.

How did you come to this decision? We originally launched iGoogle in 2005 before anyone could fully imagine the ways that today's web and mobile apps would put personalized, real-time information at your fingertips. With modern apps that run on platforms like Chrome and Android, the need for something like iGoogle has eroded over time, so we’ll be winding down iGoogle on November 1, 2013, giving you a full 16 months to adjust or easily export your iGoogle data.

I have been using igoogle for years and its really handy for feeds and other stuff - is there another replacement for igoogle or should we all jump up and down hoping they keep it going?

what do you guys use as a default browser page?

Google web search, not for any reason.

Doesn't bother me in the least.

Never used iGoogle but have google.com.au as my homepage. We've got a Google Mini server at work though which google also announced yesterday is on the chopping block.

I've used iGoogle for at least the last two years. Bit sad to see it going, though I don't think I bother using the widgets anymore, everything is close by to me in regards to email/tablet etc.

iGoogle used to open by default whenever I went to google, but then it stopped, or I stopped it and either way I never bothered putting it back. I guess they were right, between my phone, and macbook dashboard, I got all the info I needed without using iGoogle.

I must be the only person who uses iGoogle, mainly to have a nice quick view of all my RSS feeds on a single page. It's my home page at the moment.

i use the "new" tab as one of my tabs that open on start up.

in this tab i have a bunch of icons from the chrome web store to quickly get what i need, they are
reader
maps
picassa
mail
facebook
twitter
amazon

plus i also use the google toolbar thingy for quick access to the main google stuff. for searching i just use the address bar.

so I'd suggest try the new tab and populate it with whatever you need.

I used to use it a couple years ago, but I found the only widget I ever really used was the Gmail one, so I figured I may as well just set Gmail as my homepage. Much more convenient.

I am surprised, I thought everyone used iGoogle. You got your weather there, little todo list, maps, email, quote of the day, whatever the fuck you like all there on your homepage. It seemed like the one-stop shop homepage anyone could have.

What the fuck are they talking about? I don't know of these apps on the Chrome platform. I don't even know what the Chrome platform is. I use the Chrome browser, and I use windows. So now when I go on a different computer or whatever, I have to set it up with 'apps'.

Fuck 'apps' aye, they might be popular with 12 year olds, but I have never bought or used an app in my life and I'm not about to start now.

All kinds of stuff that should just be a website is now a god damn app. Doesn't anybody see how retarded this is?
