I normally just use Firefox because I'm used to that and it's awesome. But I decided to install Chrome just now since I hadn't put it on after formatting. But something that was super awesome was I clicked Import Bookmarks and Settings and it made the Chrome browser look exactly like my Firefox one. Friggin' awesome. I don't remember using that feature the last times I've had both browsers running. The icing on the cake would have been if it saved my homepage with that but I'm happy as that it just put all my bookmarks in the exact same spot as Firefox.

Well done everybody!

Chrome's development team is awesome. Also, they just released Chrome for iPad and iPhone, and if you sync it to your Google account you can see which tabs you have open on each device. Really handy.

Where have you been Rev? Chrome's been powering on for 2 years now & has just overtaken IE in market share this month. Firefox is holding on, but combined with Safari, WebKit based browsers have had dominant market share for most of this year:
http://gs.statcounter.com/#browser-ww-monthly-200807-201206

Also, anyone with an iOS device owes it to themselves to download Chrome and compare it against the native browser, it's pretty impressive for a first release.

Long time Firefox user, read a review that Chrome is blitzing the competition these days ... just installed it, and they're right. It's way faster.

Firefox appears to be bloated these days, lags a lot.

I use mostly FF but Chrome for webapps (iView, Gmail, SABnzbd+, etc) and I use Dolphin browser on Android mobs.

Widescreen browsing I prefer vertical tabs down one side and bookmarks (Gmarks) on the other - since most pages are formatted for portrait type viewing you don't lose anything. For other pages I just Alt + M to hide the bookmarks toolbar.

Advantage of vertical tabs is being able to middle-click rapid fire and churn through web content. I use Snap Links Plus to open 10-15 websites at a time then middle click tabs to close them.

I've been keeping my eye on Chrome with my addons in mind with a view to eventually change completely, but not yet so far.

Wait so Chrome still doesn't have a vertical or tree tab add on? Honestly, with how superior vertical tabs are to the standard horizontal mess I'd be surprised if there isn't a solution out there.

Otherwise why would anyone use Chrome, unless they are bad at using tabs?

Both of these extensions are already available from Chrome, the only problem is they don't snap to the right/left hand side of the browser window like Firefox's version.

I don't use FF any more not unless I really have to use multiple browsers from some testing. Same goes with IE.

Also LOL at Spook's comment, we all know he'll realised his mistake eventually for backing the wrong browser.

Never knew tree tabs existed. Makes a lot of sense.

When I can put my tabs under my bookmark bar and have a download window instead of a tab, I would use it as my main browser. Until then, FireFox all the way.

You get used to it pretty quickly, plus they are adjustable and you can one click hide them if they are too obtrusive. I find I prefer mine on the right hand side since most websites are left-align, keeping them out of the way.

Most websites don't use all of the horizontal space on your screen so it makes better use of your screen space and no matter how many tabs you have open, it won't resize stuff. Being able to collapse a group of tabs and close them all at once is pretty handy as well.

Basically, once you get over the appearance of the tab bar on the side of your screen you won't be able to go back to traditional tab browsing.

I love Chrome, been using it for years.

Set up my theme, extensions and saved passwords and its automatically synced. At work or after a fresh format, everything is exactly as it was within two seconds.

Shameless plug: You should totally get this badass Chrome extension for Comparing Steam's Regional Prices

i've changed it so the tab bar auto hides. when i mouse over the area it reappears.

is there a way to close a tab without having to click on it first then the x? i just want to click once and it closes.

Mine just one clicks to close, if I want to close a group I have to first collapse them though.

Did not know about auto-hide, will give that a whirl.

Funny, i installed a firefox plugin to negate the need for the download window. Puts downloads in the status bar.

Posted from chrome on Android, bitches.

Getting some weirdness where I go to open up in a new tab and it will open the link both in my current window and in the new tab. Seems to only happen on http://bikesales.com.au when I middle click on an image of a bike.

today I now brand myself as a chrome man after years of service to FF. The import bookmark thing is awesome, i like i can still use ad block plus and script block. its much much faster and more stable than the latest FF which ive had nothing but problems with lately. I also like how I can sync my phone and PC with chrome that's a really awesome feature.

But the best feature is after I did a fresh install today then installed chrome, it automatically imported all my old bookmarks, add ons and remembered my passwords.

Sorry FF you have been beat.

I spotted this handy tip for Chrome on Reddit the other day. Turn any search bar on a website into a search engine in Chrome. Also works in Firefox.

Might be old, but was new to me. Loving it.
