Ok, so the problem to be solved is I have an android tablet (with a flash supporting web browser on it), and I want something that lets me serve up videos that I have on my PC or media box and make them viewable via the web browser on the tablet.
The reason it needs to be done via a web browser is cos the tablet is built into a treadmill that my brother owns, and has no access to install new apps on it, so we need to work with whats already on there. Its pretty sweet, you can web browse, watch youtube, etc while on the treadmill, but it'd be even more awesome if I could watch stuff that is on my PC, on the treadmill.
Haven't had any luck finding a software solution for it, and the best hardware solution I've found is the
Hauppauge Broadway, which actually does sound pretty damn awesome, lets you serve up media from anything you plug into it to clients via web browser. A lot of the hardware solutions for streaming stuff over the net involve installing a client app on whatever you want to view it with, and thats not possible, but the Broadway is the only one I've found that does it through a web browser. I'm yet to find any stores nearby that actually sell it though.
Anyone got any suggestions for solutions or alternatives? Some software that could serve videos from my PC and make them viewable through a web browser would be a good start, something hardware like the Broadway is good too though cos that'd do Foxtel and TV as well.
