Census data is available for consumption, most can be found:

Good run down;

A few tidbits the QGL community might be interested in:

The number of people reporting 'No religion' increased significantly, from 18.7 per cent of the population in 2006 to 22.3 per cent in 2011.

In 2011, there were 5.3 million first generation Australians (27% of the population)

UK is way in front for 'Country of Birth' stats for Non-Australian Born Population, with 1100k. With NZ in second place with 483k and China not too far behind that with 319k.

In 2011, 81% of Australians aged 5 years and over, spoke only English at home while 2% didn't speak English at all. The most common languages spoken at home (other than English) were Mandarin (1.7%), Italian (1.5%), Arabic (1.4%), Cantonese (1.3%) and Greek (1.3%).

You can see how you compare to the nation here;

A quick cull of 87.7% of the population and Australia will be a pretty good place to live.

(I think you might mean 77.7%)

However, I don't agree.
Woodridge, with it's known reputation, has 'No Religion' as its most common responses for religion. Postcode is 4114 if you wanted to check yourself.

...while 2% didn't speak English at all.

Yet managed to complete a survey form...in English?

I s'pose the Gov't does always have those native language hotlines.

22.3% of the population with 'no religion' is a good figure and is hopefully increasing.

It's always funny to watch how much people on this forum are against religion. Pretending it's some sort of disease that needs to be eradicated.

I'm atheist, but still lulzy.

Religion is not evil - stupid, uneducated people are evil - but I believe religion is one gross enabler (of many).

Well, we're usually the ex religious kind from what I've seen, and know our shit on the topic. I take it you're not? It's not so much about being an atheist (which just means not religious), as being somebody who has reason to have a problem with religion. Being an ex-christian, I liken it to emigrating from a secretive falsely advertised place such as north korea, as an ex-party official at that, criticizing the situation back where you came from, and then locals saying "lolol I'm above criticizing other countries, you guys are just intolerant" >_<

That pretty much every ex religious person sees religion as a pretty huge subversive problem, should be telling. I don't give two shits about differences, but religion I have genuine issues with. It's about pyramid schemes and cults defensively marketed as a difference in opinion to shame people out of criticizing their obvious flaws, it's one of their ugly defence mechanisms for keeping their members indoctrinated and sheltered from reason. It wouldn't fly on any other topic, nobody would ever say that you shouldn't criticize antivaxxers.

Yeah, though 2% is pretty damn tiny. I wonder how many natives make up the population now days and how many of them speak their native dialect as their primary language.
