PSA - Flash player problem and remedy

A few days ago I updated my Adobe Flash Player to the latest version and have since been having a really annoying problem. Playback is continuously interrupted, then resumes after about half a second. I've had this occur while using beatport, SoundCloud and YouTube.

But I have also found a working solution:

So if you updated Flash Player recently and are having this problem you should check out the link.

I notice since I upgraded to the new flash, when I scroll in Firefox it messes up the flash window. Never noticed this before I upgraded.

Downgraded to 10.3 of Flash and issue went away. Then upgraded Firefox to latest version and tried 11 of flash again, was a little better but still some weirdness.

Chrome has Flash built in. Updating Flash using the downloader/updater from Adobe would only update it for Firefox and IE I believe.

Oh good it's not just me, mostly in one of the music threads on here though, no issues elsewhere. I thought it was just that someone b0rked the forums.

edit: what?
If you install the latest 10.3 build, you will get a player with all known security patches applied. It won't however have the functionality of the 11.x series. If you install the last version of 11.x, your player might not have all of the known security updates applied but you will have more recent features.
so upgrading to the latest version is insecure and sticking with an old version is more secure, but potentially less functional? Why wouldn't version 11 have all the current security fixes?
